  • This dataset represents the second-level administrative unit 'Islands' of Kiribati. Used for Pacific Community data publishing on the Hand-in-Hand Geospatial Platform publishing. Data was sourced from (?) in June 2022, feature topology/geometry was corrected, and international borders validated against the United Nations official borders (United Nations Geospatial Information Section - UN-Map 2018). The dataset is part of FAO's Hand-in-Hand (HiH) second administrative level boundaries 2022 dataset series, published on the HiH Geospatial Platform for thematic mapping, integration of geospatially enabled statistics, zonal statistics extraction, and used for HiH initiative geospatial analysis (GIS-MCDA, suitability/location analysis, agricultural typologies).

  • This dataset is for Rift Valley Fever project which was used as the structuring of the geospatial data. The World Health Organization (WHO) initiated the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) in May 1974 with the objective to vaccinate children throughout the world. In each of the United Nations’ member states, the national governments create and implement their policies for vaccination programs following the guidelines set by the EPI. Rift Valley fever (RVF) is an acute viral disease that affects domestic animals (such as cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats, and camels). The disease is caused by the RVF virus, generally found in regions of eastern and southern Africa, but also in most countries of sub-Saharan Africa, Madagascar, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. This dataset represents the administrative boundaries of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The dataset was edited by FAO-CSI for topology/geometry validation in January,2022. International borders were updated/validated against the official/recognized borders from the United Nations Geospatial Information Section (UN-map 2018).

  • This dataset represents the second-level administrative unit 'districts' of Sri Lanka. There are 25 districts under 9 provinces. The dataset was uploaded by the Survey Department of Sri Lanka under Ministry of Home Affairs in November, 2021 to Second Administrative Level Boundaries (SALB) Program of United Nations. The reference scale for this Geospatial data is equivalent to 1:1,000,000 scale, or larger scale. Data was downloaded from UN-SALB site in July 2023, feature topology/geometry was corrected, international borders validated against the United Nations official borders (United Nations Geospatial Information Section - UN-Map 2018).

  • This dataset represents the first-level administrative unit 'Districts' of Tuvalu. Used for Pacific Community data publishing on the Hand-in-Hand Geospatial Platform.

  • This vector dataset contains FAO processed administrative boundaries from multiple sources, produced in 2022 for the Hand-in-Hand Initiative Geospatial Platform publishing. The data was sourced and processed from the United Nations second administrative level boundaries (UN-SALB) programme, complemented with Hand-in-Hand Initiative and geospatial platform data from official geospatial data producers. Country boundaries are processed against UN official recognized borders (UN-map 2018), administrative subdivision checked for geometry a topology, validated, and corrected. Attributes are standardized to the UN-SALB programme schema and coding system. Processed by UN-FAO-CSI AgroInformatics geospatial analysis team, the data is used for thematic mapping, geospatially enabled statistics location-based integration, and Hand-in-Hand geospatial analysis (GIS-MCDA, suitability/location analysis, agricultural typologies, zonal statistics extraction).

  • This dataset represents the first-level administrative unit 'districts' of Tanzania. Districts are each administered by a district council. Cities are separately administered by their own councils, and while administratively within a region, are not considered to be located within a district. FAO-CSI got the data from(?) and validated topology/geometry in January, 2022. International borders were validated against the official borders from the United Nations Geospatial Information Section (UN-Map 2018).

  • This dataset represents the first-level administrative unit 'counties' of Kenya. The counties of Kenya are geographical units envisioned by the 2010 Constitution of Kenya as the units of devolved government. The dataset was originally produced by the WHO Teams for analysis of Rift valley fever (RVF). FAO-CSI got the data from(?) and validated topology/geometry in January, 2022. International borders were validated against the official borders from the United Nations Geospatial Information Section (UN-Map 2018).

  • This dataset represents the second-level administrative unit 'Area Councils' of Vanuatu. Used for Pacific Community data publishing on the Hand-in-Hand Geospatial Platform.

  • This dataset represents the first-level administrative unit 'districts' of Uganda. Boundaries of territorial areas gathering several administrative districts, are officially served and united by the Uganda Local Governments Association (ULGA). FAO-CSI got the data from(?) and validated topology/geometry in January, 2022. International borders were validated against the official borders from the United Nations Geospatial Information Section (UN-Map 2018).

  • This dataset represents the administrative provinces of Solomon Islands. Used for Pacific Community data publishing on the Hand-in-Hand Geospatial Platform publishing. The data was sourced from (?) in June 2022, feature topology/geometry was corrected, and international borders validated against the United Nations official borders (United Nations Geospatial Information Section - UN-Map 2018).
